Katherine C. Bray
Katherine C. Bray (Kathy) is the managing partner of our business department. She primarily counsels credit unions on all matters affecting credit union operations and legal compliance, although she has a strong background in credit union litigation. Kathy joined the firm in 2008 after working with a prominent criminal defense firm in San Diego for three years assisting with major felony defense work. After gaining valuable experience in our litigation department for five years, in 2013 she transitioned to the business side of the firm working under Dave Brewer, one of the founding partners. She has since used her litigation background and burgeoning business expertise to better serve credit unions in dealing with all manner of operational issues that credit unions face, such as regulatory compliance, corporate governance and advising credit union boards, mergers, conversions, consumer and commercial lending, real property transactions (both purchase/sale and leases), contract negotiations and disputes with vendors, legislative drafting, credit union investments, CUSO formation, and employment matters. She received her Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law in 2005 and received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at the University of California, Berkeley, in 2002. |
